Acupuncture for Prebirth & Labour Support
Grounded, respectful care for all birthing bodies
Whether you’re preparing for your first birth, adding to your family, or supporting someone through pregnancy, acupuncture can offer steady, holistic support. It helps reduce stress, ease discomfort, and prepare the body for birth—on your terms.
How it helps:
Encourages softening and opening of the pelvis and cervix
Supports optimal baby positioning (including breech)
Reduces common discomforts like insomnia, swelling, back pain, and heartburn
Regulates the nervous system, improving rest and emotional resilience
Helps prepare for labour onset naturally, especially when started early
Timing matters:
Start prebirth treatments around weeks 32–34 to support your whole system well before labour
If you’re considering acupuncture to help initiate labour, begin by week 36 for best results—research shows improved outcomes, including shorter labours and fewer interventions
Breech positioning:
Moxibustion for breech babies is most effective between 33–36 weeks

A note from Lamia:
This work is close to my heart. I love working with pregnant folks. I’ve birthed a child myself, been a birth partner, and supported clients through births at home, in hospitals, and in birthing centres.
If we’ve worked together during your pregnancy, and our schedules align, I’m open to discussing what it could look like for me to support you during labour as well.
