Acupuncture for Plantar Fasciitis Relief
Gentle, effective support for heel pain, mobility, and whole-body balance
Plantar fasciitis is a common cause of heel pain, resulting from inflammation of the plantar fascia—a thick band of tissue connecting the heel bone to the toes. This condition often causes sharp or stabbing pain in the heel, especially with your first steps in the morning or after long periods of sitting or standing. It can be brought on by overuse, tension, structural imbalances, or simply the wear and tear of moving through the world.
Acupuncture offers a holistic and grounded approach to healing plantar fasciitis. It addresses both the symptoms and root causes, supporting your body in finding relief, repair, and balance.
How acupuncture can help:
Reduces inflammation and pain in the heel area
Improves blood flow to support tissue healing
Relaxes tight muscles and fascia in the foot and lower leg
Enhances foot function and mobility
Addresses contributing factors like tension, stress, and overuse
A 2024 network meta-analysis published in Cureus found that acupuncture was among the most effective non-surgical treatments for reducing pain in plantar fasciitis patients, outperforming several other conservative therapies in short-term pain relief.
During your session
Every treatment is tailored to you. Alongside acupuncture, I may include other hands-on approaches such as acupressure, shiatsu, or gua sha to help reduce tension, improve circulation, and support your body’s natural healing process. These gentle modalities can be especially helpful in softening tight fascia, easing pain, and restoring ease to movement.
What to expect
We'll begin with a thorough consultation where I get to know what’s going on in your body and life. I’ll ask about your health history, current symptoms, and goals. You can bring any scans or medical information you're comfortable sharing—we work together as a team.
Each session offers not just physical support, but space to reconnect with your body, settle your nervous system, and feel supported in your healing.
