Meet Lamia
I’ve been immersed in healing work for over 20 years — as a practitioner, teacher, and community builder. I trained in Shiatsu therapy (2002) and Acupuncture (2013), both with high honours, and for 12 years I co-owned Six Degrees, the first community acupuncture clinic in Canada.
My focus is on supporting the body’s natural rhythms, facilitate healing and help people reconnect to themselves and the world — especially when navigating burnout, grief, chronic stress, illness or transitions. My continuing studies include acupuncture for emotional health and Blood Magic, as well as a 4-year program in Leadership and Radical Relating that informs my collaborative approach, empathy and advocacy. I have also been practicing Vipassana and Mindfulness for over 15 years.
I’m a Registered Acupuncturist with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO) and offer direct billing for many insurance plans.
I currently practice at Aurum Medicine & Wellness Clinic in Toronto, where I collaborate with a team of integrative practitioners to offer care that is respectful, holistic, and real.
When I am not working with clients and community, I meditate, run around parenting 2 kiddos, meet up with friends and grapple with how it can be that the world is so marvellous, yet still so devastatingly cruel. I generally swim in the deep end, and come up to shallow waters often enough to touch peace.
