In TCM, insomnia is rarely “just” about sleep. It often reflects deeper imbalances in Qi, Blood, and Shen (spirit). Acupuncture gently helps regulate:

In East Asian medicine, night sweats often signal a Yin or Blood deficiency, meaning your body lacks the internal fluids or cooling resources to anchor your rest.

Acupuncture and food therapy support your body’s ability to cool and nourish itself, especially in perimenopause, postpartum recovery, and long-term stress. We also explore simple additions to help rebuild from the inside out—herbs, foods, and lifestyle cues rooted in your own rhythm.

What a Session Might Include

Most people begin with acupuncture for insomnia, and from there, other tools may join the care plan:

  • Shiatsu or acupressure to calm the nervous system

  • Cupping to release tension

  • Moxibustion to warm and nourish the body (not for those with night sweats!)

  • Food therapy to support deep sleep and temperature regulation

  • Breathwork or restorative movement if desired
